The Snow Queen
I designed and made all the costumes for this traveling production of the traditional children’s story. The costumes were based on Victorian clothing, since the story was originally published in this period, and had to be extremely multi-functional and versatile since just four actors were playing all of the characters.
The main characters were the four narrators called Threader, Weaver, Spinner, and Stitch who were forest sprites. Natural, earthy colours and fabrics were used, and lots of texture and threads through details of weaving, crochet, knit, and exaggerated stitching were incorporated into each costume.
